Information For Mohair Producers

How can I sell my mohair fleeces?
Via BMM Ltd.

What is BMM?
A not for profit cooperative run by volunteers, British Mohair Marketing Ltd is registered with FCA as a Mutual Society (IP26129)

What does BMM do?
Collects and arranges the transport and sale of members’ mohair.

How do I join?
Apply to the registered office address. You then pay a £25 joining fee (+VAT) + a £1.00 share, and sign our marketing agreement.

Is that the only charge?
No. A LEVY is charged on the net weight sold on your behalf.

What is the levy for?
To cover the direct costs of the annual collection, transport, storage, grader, bale packing, insurance and invoicing. Also to cover general admin costs: accounting, clerical work, communications and postage.

BMM tells you when, where and how to send your unprocessed fleeces – usually once a year.

Details may be found on the website, and a reminder may be sent by post or email.

Is that it?
No! You must follow the shearing and packing advice to get the best value for your fleeces in the different grades and to keep BMM costs down.

ANY OTHER QUERIES YOU MAY HAVE SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE REGISTERED OFFICE.
